Dr MiKe Simms - Geologist and Lichenologist

Area of Expertise:-

Geology, particularly the Mesozoic of Ireland and the UK; fossils; caves and karst; meteorites; lichens.

Biography

Mike Simms has worked in a diverse range of fields across geology and natural history, and has particular interests in Mesozoic geology, landscape evolution, meteorites and lichens.

He has been involved in major projects on fossil crinoids, on early Jurassic rocks in Britain and Northern Ireland, on caves and karst of Britain and Ireland, and on landscape interpretation. He has been consulted widely by archaeologists, developers and various organisations requesting advice on geology, geomorphology or lichens.
