Exhibitions
As a Friend you will be invited, when the Museum re-opens, to attend special previews of major exhibitions, to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to make new friends.
Talks
We organise both daytime and evening talks and lectures given by experts on topics relating to the Museum's collections.

Behind the Scenes
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in a large national museum? By joining the Friends you will have the opportunity to visit Museum Departments, workshops and discover a fascinating world in the collection stores.
Visits
If you enjoy visiting museums and sites of historic interest and natural beauty, the Friends regular programme of outings will be of particular interest to you. Trips are conducted by experts and can afford Friends access to places not seen by other members of the public.
Travel
Each spring the Friends organise a cultural tour. In recent years we have visited Belgium, Cumbria, Glasgow and Lanarkshire, the Burren and Wexford. In 2008 we will be visiting Bath and surrounding area. These are always friendly and stimulating occasions.
Lunches and evening receptions
There are several themed events during the year. Recent ones have covered linen, gold, glass and conservation.
