Panel display about the Museum's archaeology and world cultures collections, Cookstown Library, County Tyrone

This panel display explores the prehistory and history of Ireland from 8000 BC to AD 1600, illustrated by objects from the fabulous Archaeology collection.  It also shows some of the most interesting items from the World Cultures collection, which contains a wealth of objects from all four continents, amassed by Ulster travellers, including the Egyptian mummy Takabuti.  Also illustrated are the Spanish Armada treasures recovered from the wreck of the galleass Girona, which sank off the north Antrim coast in 1588.

On show in Cookstown Library, Cookstown, County Tyrone, July & August 2008
