Colour in Nature

Friday 1 December 2006 until Wednesday 31 December 2008

Exhibition from the Museum's natural history collections in the ecos Millennium Environmental Centre, Ballymena

Butterfly from Zoology collectionsUsing striking examples of birds and butterflies, both exotic and home-grown, this exhibition explores how colour is created and exploited in the natural world.  Discover how colour is used to send messages, such as "I am poisonous", to friend and foe alike, how it helps to distinguish males from females, and how prey species use camouflage colour to escape predators.  With three computer points available, you can also search our Natural Sciences website (www.habitas.org.uk)

On show in ecos Millennium Environmental Centre, Ballymena, County Antrim, until December 2008
